PyGist is a Python interface to the Gist scientific graphic library (the same library Yorick uses). It produces x-vs-y plots, 2-D quadrilateral mesh plots with contours, filled contours, vector fields, or pseudocolor maps on such meshes. Some 3-D plot capabilities are also available.

This package installs the X11 version of PyGist. For a a demonstration of the capabilities of PyGist, type "from gist import gistdemolow" then "gistdemolow.run()" at the Python prompt. More examples can be found in the gistdemo3d and gistdemomovie modules. A manual is available on the PyGist's homepage.
