Package wget-1.16-1
| Description: | Automatic web site retriever (SSL) (1.16-1) | |
GNU Wget is a free network utility to retrieve files from the World
Wide Web using HTTP and FTP, the two most widely used Internet
protocols. It works non-interactively, thus enabling work in the
background, after having logged off.
The recursive retrieval of HTML pages, as well as FTP sites is
supported -- you can use Wget to make mirrors of archives and home
pages, or traverse the web like a WWW robot.
There have been significant changes in the 1.13.x line.
* All variants include internationalization support.
* The "wget" package is essentially like what has been in Fink since version
1.10.1, except for using fink's openssl100 instead of the system's OpenSSL.
This is due to the lack of a necessary symbol in Leopard's openssl-0.9.7 .
* The "wget-gnutls" package uses GNUTLS instead of OpenSSL.
* The "wget-idn" and "wget-gnutls-idn" packages add IDN/IRIs support.

To have wget automatically use certificates on 10.4 or 10.5,
do the following:
1. Install the 'ca-bundle' package.
2. If you don't currently have $HOME/.wgetrc, generate it via
cp /sw/etc/wgetrc $HOME/.wgetrc
3. Edit $HOME/.wgetrc with your favorite text editor and add the
following line to it:
ca_certificate = /sw/etc/ssl/certs/ca-bundle.crt
